Novell Client for Linux 2.0 SP1 - Public Beta |
Welcome to the public beta for Novell Client for Linux 2.0 SP1. The beta files are now available for download below. Known Issues - Novell Client for Linux 2.0 SP1 for OpenSUSE 11(1) Unable to install the Novell Client for Linux using the Add-On Product option within YaST2 while running under gnome. This issue has been fixed but has not yet been delivered to the openSUSE 11.0 patch channel. You can install through YaST2 by adding the product as an installation source under "Software Repositories" and then installing the Novell Client for Linux pattern under Software Management, or by using the install script "ncl_install". (2) The "Novell Services" option is missing in the nautilus plugin. This is due to the move from gnome-vfs to gfvs. While this doesn't affect the ability to use the client services in general, it does mean that the ability to browse your services using the nvvfs:// option is not available. (3) When using the install script "ncl_install" to either install or uninstall the Novell Client for Linux, the following message is received: "error: failed to stat /home/user/.gvfs: Permission denied" This error is cosmetic and will not harm the client. This error is also seen on other Linux versions due to the switch from gnome-vfs to gvfs. A solution is being worked on. Known Issue - Novell Client for Linux 2.0 SP1 for OpenSUSE 10.3If you are running GNOME on openSUSE 10.3 and you are using the ncl_install script you will first need to make sure you install kdelib3 and novfs from the OS installation source. If you install it as an add on product it will pull these dependencies in automatically. |
