You know that Novell BrainShare is one of the best technical conference values anywhere. Now, you just need to get your boss on board. We know it is sometimes difficult to get your manager to understand the importance of continued training and education, and that's why we're providing a little help. Here's some text you can use to get the approval process started. Simply copy and paste (and edit if necessary) the shaded section below into an e-mail to explain the benefits of participating in BrainShare 2010.

With your approval, I'd like to participate in an upcoming conference: Novell BrainShare 2010. This technical conference has earned the reputation of being one of the best in the industry, and attending will help us more effectively leverage our investment in Novell products. The conference will be held March 21-25, 2010, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This year, Novell is planning more than 500 hours of technical breakout sessions, including several hands-on training and in-depth technical sessions. There will also be an exhibit hall featuring Novell technical demonstrations and partner products. And throughout the week I'll have the opportunity to network with peers to exchange ideas, explore solutions and compare best practices.

I know budgets may be tight, but the investment in BrainShare will pay great dividends. I'm confident that I'll be able to learn new tips and tricks to help our organization run more efficiently and get the most out of our IT investments.

Compared to other similar conferences, BrainShare is actually quite inexpensive. If I register before February 19, 2010, I can get in on the early bird price of $1,395. Hotels nearby cost anywhere from $109 to $169 per night, and there's plenty of food during the week, so onsite expenses should be minimal.
