GWCheck

6 February 2012 - 4:47am
ok, this is a new one. running gw 7.0.1. needed to collect mailbox statistics for users on one post office. initiated gwcheck through console one. never received a report after a week of waiting. tried using a stand alone version of gwcheck and received an error message that the job was already running. server was rebooted last night. tried running the stand alone gwcheck again and received the same message that the job was already running. how? wouldn't the reboot have stopped that process? does anyone know what the process is so i can stop it manually?

any help would very, very appreciated.

thanks

GW7.0.4

1 February 2012 - 6:18am
We are running Netware 6.5 SP8 and all of our clients are running GroupWise 7.0.2

I have downloaded the gw704_full files for GroupWise7 SP4. Are there any updates for Netware or can I just update the clients?

Thanks in advance!

MailBox Sizes in GW7

24 January 2012 - 6:58am
I have been tasked with obtaining accurate sizes of users mailboxes in a GW7 environment. This is proving to be no easy task. I run a GWCheck against the PO with Contents and Collect Statistics checked on both the user and message databases. I use GWMBsize3 to extrapolate the users information. The total from the GWCheck and the total GW volume size do not even come close to matching. I have a 40GB GW volume, but my report says I have over 70GB of user mailboxes. This does not compute. Am I doing something wrong at the GWCheck level? Has anyone else run into this? It is frustrating that something as trivial as accurate user mailbox sizes should be this difficult. Unfortunately, upgrading to GW8 simply is not an option. Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Is there any way to estimate an expire/reduce

20 December 2011 - 11:42pm
Hello

We are getting ready to do a one year expire/reduce on our very large and old post offices. Is there any way to estimate how log it would take, or to run it in a
'test mode' that will show how long it would take without cleaning up the mail.

Also when it is ran on the post office, does it lock the entire post office, or just the accounts it is working on at that moment.

Any thoughts will be appeciated.

Chris T.
