Access Manager 3 IDP or LAG slow to restart or slow???
I found out why my IDP and LAG were sooo slow to start and to service requests.

Access Manager 3 and Authentication
In Novell Access Manager 3, the default authentication base uses ports 8080 and 8443. These ports are not allowed by most corporate firewalls. So, these ports must be changed to 80 and 443.
