What to do if you find a USB stick?
Trying to find the right balance between cost and a certain security level is something many customers have problems with. What is the return on the investment on security products?

Back on the blog with 10.0.3
Yes, It's about time that I get back writing some posts on coolblogs. After we closed down the old coolblog page I took a short blog-break....
Time to get back on-line :-)
Most people probably saw that we've released the 10.0.3 update for ZCM, many customers have been waiting for this release.
Probably the most important change in this update is the new system update component.

Closing down....
Coolblogs is all about open discussions with customers, it however has one very big limitation, there is just a few Novell people that blog and customers are only able to respond. This limitation disappeared with the introduction of the new Cool Solutions Community pages where we allow customers to write blog posts as well.
You have seen that a few of our Cool Bloggers already moved house and started to blog on the Cool Solutions Communities page, we hope that this will improve the interaction with the user community.
OK, so what will happen with Cool Blogs? Should we keep both Cool Solutions and Coolblogs? No, we will be closing down Cool Blogs.........
I'ts been great to see the comments on the blog and I hope we will continue to see this feedback coming in on the Cool Solutions pages.
Thank you all and see you at the Cool Solutions Community page.

Laura Chappell at Novell Open Audio
Next month it's time again for BrainShare, a busy week with lots of technical info and some fun :-).
One of the popular presenters is Laura Chappell, I assume that just like the last few years there will be some full classrooms at the sessions that she will be delivering. For the Laura fan's amongst the coolblog readers, a few weeks ago Novell Open Audio posted an interview they did with the network protocol analysis guru. If you can't wait for next month, get to Open Audio.....

Support Offerings
Some of you might have seen some messages about the changes Novell made for the support programs. Probably the biggest change is the fact that for VLA customers we do not have Upgrade Protection and Maintenance separated anymore but now offer a combined package with version upgrades, technical support and even on-line training included.
The new offerings are Standard Maintenance and Priority Maintenance, Standard offers 12 x 5 support while Priority maintenance offers 24 x 7. Both Standard and Priority Maintenance will come with unlimited product-specific support. A customer with Maintenance on ZENworks won't be allowed to log incidents for some NetWare or GroupWise issues if he doesn't have maintenance on these products, but there won't be a limit on the amount of calls he can raise with Novell like we had in the past.
For more info about the new support offerings, have a look at the Support Options.
