Novell’s Ted Haeger makes an interesting observation in a blog posting today. The openSUSE build service, a system which allows folks to rapidly build packages for SUSE Linux that we announced at LinuxWorld back in April, is being looked at by developers of other distros, too. We had said this would be possible back in April, but suspected most on openSUSE.org would be working on SUSE Linux. That is the case, but there are folks looking at the tool to also build to Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and others. This is the only tool we know of that provides this type of flexiblity, and it’s good for Linux in general. We’re glad the community finds it useful!
