Oracle on Linux from Novell

Oracle solutions running on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from Novell are gaining momentum, as illustrated in today’s customer win announcement from Oracle. Similarly, Novell has posted a success story about the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto in Portugal. Among other things, the information systems manager said, “The performance of Oracle on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is excellent – our solution shows Linux working perfectly in an intensive environment.”In a slight rehash from last month, I thought it germane to point out again some steps Novell and Oracle are taking to continue to improve life in the data center.

  1. Congrats for Novell on getting Oracle to run on a NOS platform.

    I don’t suppose you remember that Oracle used to run on that “other” NOS Novell *used* to make, do you?
