Timeout a Process
How do you make sure that a process has stopped after you've asked it nicely? This is a recipe to give a process a certain amount of time to terminate before it is terminated forcefully.

Thunderbird and Enigmail Integration
Sharing information has always been something I felt was important. Knowing the source of data one receives is also important. Setting up Thunderbird to provide the ability to sign data in a non-repudiated way is easier than it sounds like it should be.
