A digital document attesting to the binding of a public key to a User object. Users have access to their own user certificates, which can be used for authentication, data encryption/decryption, digital signing, and secure e-mail. User certificates can be signed by a certificate authority based on Novell Directory Services (NDS) or by an external certificate authority.
