Figuring the student was too panicked to remember to include even the slightest of hints of what I needed to restore, I replied asking for more details.
"Can you tell me the name of the file you deleted? Do you recall which Network Drive and which folder it was in? Or when you deleted it?"
Very promptly I received the following:
"No, I don't know what it was called, where it was, or when I deleted it. Can you restore it?"
Sadly, I could not.
