Here's part 1 of a series of articles about the SAP HR driver that comes with the Compliance Management Platform to give a better understanding of its inner workings.
The plan is to try and get more articles of this nature, which walk through a default driver configuration, explaining WHAT is going on, and when possible WHY it is done that way, in order to make troubleshooting and modifications easier and safer. If you do not know WHY something is being done, it is often hard to work with it.
I am starting a series here, walking through one of the more complex drivers, the SAP HR driver.
With the release of the Compliance Management Platform (CMP), Novell started onto a slightly different path than in the past, with Identity Manager, and its associated products. With the CMP Novell is trying to make the entire kit and kaboodle easier to implement. As a consequence, several products are bundled together in the CMP, and connectors between them are added. Here's how it works together.
Novell Identity Manager has a large number of available drivers, ready to go out of the box. The problem that arises is that many of the connected systems are complex, and there is no single or even common way to configure them.
