link state protocolsearch for term

A routing algorithm that controls the way each router broadcasts information about the state of its links (network attachments) to all nodes in the internetwork. This approach reduces routing loops and network traffic but has greater memory requirements than the distance vector algorithm.NetWare Link Services Protocol (NLSP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), and Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS) are examples of link state protocols.
