This PHB is one of the good guys. He used to be an engineer. He’s got good intentions. But, you know, management responsibilities are the corporate equivalent of a pre-frontal lobotomy in the best of cases.
At a recent roundtable of business leaders, discussing the future of the desktop, the PHB describes why Windows Vista was such a non-starter.
“In addition to all the technical issues in Vista, its biggest detriment was that its predecessor was relatively stable. People didn’t NEED to upgrade. Vista was missing… that certain… well… it just didn’t have… hmm… it needed a dose of ‘XP-ness’!”
(You might have to read that last sentence out loud.)
Here’s a marketing idea for the guys in Redmond “Windows 7, more XP-ness than Vista”!!!
