Course Description
Because the ZENworks Configuration Management architecture is radically different from the traditional ZENworks Desktop Management architecture, you cannot perform an in-place upgrade of ZENworks Desktop Management to ZENworks 11 Configuration Management. However, ZENworks 11 Configuration Management provides a set of tools, called the ZENworks Migration Utility, to help you migrate data from previous ZENworks products. This course examines the key processes for migration. By the time you complete this course you should be able to:

Become familiar with the ZENworks Migration Utility
Run pre-migration database queries
Review objects that might cause problems or might need additional work
Install the ZENworks Migration Utility
Use the utility to migrate the ZENworks Desktop Management objects
Use ZENworks Desktop Management to push out the ZENworks Adaptive Agent
This session consists of lecture and a hands on portion. In the hands on portion of this course you use the information learned to Migrate ZENworks Desktop Management to ZENworks 11 Configuration Management and how to better apply the information taught.

Audience Summary
Consider taking this course if you are a network administrator who needs to migrate information from ZENworks Desktop Management (v4 - 7) to ZENworks 11 Configuration Management, and you have the fundamental knowledge of ZENworks Desktop Management and ZENworks 11 Configuration Management.

Course Prerequisites
You should have a basic understanding of the network and networking. Students should be familiar with ZENworks Desktop Management and ZENworks Configuration Management. In addition, students should be familiar with the fundamentals of an LDAP-compliant Directory service (such as Novell eDirectory or Microsoft Active Directory).

In this course you will learn how to configure and deploy Patches with Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management.

Audience Summary
This course is designed for anyone wanting to configure and utilize Patch Management in Novell ZENworks 11 Configuration Management. This includes network administrators, resellers, consultants and network support personnel. Students should be familiar with ZENworks Configuration Management. This course is written and designed with the administration/support positions in mind.

Course Prerequisites
Students should be familiar with ZENworks 11 Configuration Management. This should come from taking courses on ZENworks 11 Configuration Management or on the job experience. Notably students should be familiar with the ZENworks SOA architecture, the Adaptive Agent and the ZCM Management Console.
