For quit some time OpenOffice.org is the standard office suite used at Novell, when I started to use OpenOffice a few years ago I had some problems opening some Microsoft Office documents but with current release the support for these documents has been a lot better. The fact that support for Microsoft Office documents has been optimised isn't such a surprise, Novell has done a lot of work to get this improved.
As you might know, Novell has their own edition of OpenOffice.org included in SLED 10, this allows us to add new developments that Novell has been working on without having to wait before these changes get added to the OpenOffice.org release.
What many people do not know is that this Novell Edition is also available for the Windows Platform. The Windows version of the OpenOffice.org Novell Edition ships with the Novell Open Workgroup Suite, if you want to start using the Novell edition of OpenOffice.org just get it from our download page.
