Blog Entry
As my colleagues continue to try to integrate into American society (I have Taco Bell pretty much down by now) tonight's lesson was watching my first college Football game. Was actually a lot of fun for a sporting event that lasts 3+ hours. BYU were up 55-7 when I left , with 6 minutes to go, so I suspect that they won. Not sure I understood half of what went on or cheered at the right times though.
Today I released the GW7 SP1 IR1 beta that I mentioned in a earlier post. So far only the linux patch is out, but tomorrow the NetWare and Windows patches should follow here. The WebAccess and GWIA components contain timezone fixes for next year and I am sure you have all updated your timezones by now right? :)
We'll also be releasing the 6.5 Windows client FTF in the next couple of days which contains, amongst other things, a number of fixes for BES.

I just downloaded gw7 sp1 ir1 beta. is gms not part of the beta release? if not, when can we expect to see gms 7.0 given that nokia/intellisync release this version in April 06.
Thank you,

I have downloaded gw7.0.1

I have downloaded gw7.0.1 ir1 beta and noitced that gms was not part of the beta. Can we expect a beta/full release of gms 7.x anytime soon given that Nokia had released version 7.x in April of 2006 and the groupwise 7 documentation gms/"secure gateway" is for version 7.0 April 2006?
Thanks
Clif.

GMS is not part of this release - we are expecting a GMS update with the full release of SP2.

So GMS has -no- DST issues

So GMS has -no- DST issues as-is? Just checking as we are beginning to use it. I know the same thing (no DST issues) was said about GWIA originally, but then Novell said there would be issues with iCal appt's without a patch.

Regarding the Netware
Submitted by Eric (no verificado) on 13 November 2006 - 7:11pm.
Regarding the Netware version of Java... I believe I read that, for the 1.4.2 release, Java 1.4.2_11 or later is required for the DST update. I notice that, even with Netware 6.5 SP6, the Java is based on a previous release (1.4.2_09?). This has me concerned. There are some big products like IDM that use Java on Netware.
Additionally, I'm worried about the Java that comes packaged with the Identity Manager User Application 3.0.1 (specifically the one that runs on Windows). It too is an older release. I have not had a response to my post on the Novell support forums, if it would be ok (and supported) to simply manually overlay that Java with a newer one downloaded from Sun.

I noticed that the program

I noticed that the program release date has changed from 11/03/06 to 11/15/06.(3 rd release) should one imply that some additional fixes have been made and included in the newer complied code or this was done for some other reason? From the issue list published, it does not appear that anything has changed but given that the program release dates have I thought I'd ask.

We fixed 2 things - all non

We fixed 2 things - all non US clients had a problem with the calendar and some customers were not able to get the POAs to start. We pulled the previous version and posted a new version yesterday. If neither of these issues affect you then there is no reason to install the update.

As far as we are aware there

As far as we are aware there are no DST issues with GMS. It gets it's time from either the server or GroupWise

Overlaying Java downloads
Submitted by Alex Evans (no verificado) on 18 November 2006 - 3:34pm.
Overlaying Java downloads from Sun has caused us problems in the past so I am not 100% convinced that this is the right thing to do. I thought I had seen elsewhere that we were going to update Java on NW for the DST issues, so I would recommend hanging tight
