Q: Why does linux install require fixed installation paths?

A: Per the documentation:

"For Linux, several fixed installation paths are used:

/opt/novell/zenworks/

/etc/opt/novell/zenworks

/var/opt/novell/zenworks

/var/opt/novell/log/zenworks/"

You can remap the content-repository store, but in the case of the core installation components, Novell complies with the LSB standard for linux installations.

For more information about LSB see http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/LSB
