My name is Mark Schouls and I'm part of the ZENworks Product Management team at Novell. I've been with Novell for a bit.... actually, I'm celebrating my 6 year anniversary on March 13, 2006 - one week before the BrainShare mayhem begins. I report directly to Martin Buckley (otherwise known as the Evil ZEN Scientist) and am a member of the Identity Products Business Team (the outward facing element of the Product Management group). I'm all about being up-front and open about technology, business, and of course systems management with ZENworks.
I haven't always been part of product management. Prior to joining this group I was a practice lead for the Novell Consulting ZENworks practice. I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable periods of time in my career, to date. I was responsible for architecting some of the largest and most complex ZENworks infrastructures in North America and it's just fun and sweet.
I'm very passionate about ZENworks, and want to hear from you directly regarding the good things, and the bad things you've come to learn about ZENworks. My main focus on the blog will be around building ZENworks infrastructures that scale to meet your needs. I am currently tossing around the idea of doing a series that covers all of the aspects of ZENworks, and how to approach a design, a re-design, an upgrade, a migration from one version to the latest, or the migration from one of our competitors products to ours. It is my hope that you will respond to my posts, and let me know what you've done to push ZENworks to it's limits.
Respond to this post and let me know what topics you WANT covered!!
One last thing... if you plan to be at either BrainShare 2006 in Salt Lake City (March 19-24), or LinuxWorld in Boston (April 3-7) I'd like to meet you.
Ping me when you see me online. Say hi to me at BrainShare 2006 or LinuxWorld Boston 2006. I'd love to meet you, and discuss how Novell can meet your requirements.
