You know your users are storing corporate data in consumer-oriented cloud solutions, and you need to get control of that. The familiar tools like Dropbox or Skydrive may be fine for holiday photos, but when employees start using them to store corporate data…well, IT rightly gets concerned. Don’t let this problem take you by surprise: If you are a customer current on OES maintenance, you are entitled to Novell Filr.
The April schedule maintenance update for OES2 SP3 and OES11 brings a significant update to eDirectory. Prior to this update eDirectory on these platforms was at various patch levels of 8.8 SP6. The current update makes eDirectory 8.8 SP7 Patch 3 available to these platforms in addition to OES11 SP1.
We’d like to thank you for attending our webinar and we hope you enjoyed our event. For those of you that missed it, please click on the link below to view the recorded session.

Two PHP Scripts reporting from login scripts. The first script is intended as a help desk tool. Given a server name as a search string it reports all container login scripts containing that string, all users in the affected OUs and all users with home directory attributes that contain that string. Our help desk requested this utility so that in the event of a server outage they had a single utility that would report all the affected users. The second script is a report on login scripts in an eDirectory Tree with a text string search option.
Shawn Iverson responded to our OES Open Call with this nice piece about migration. His meditative approach underscores the importance of personal tranquility when approaching delicate IT procedures. Put down that Red Bull, clear your mind, and let Shawn guide you to migration nirvana. [Which Wikipedia defines as "the imperturbable stillness of mind after the fires of desire, aversion, and delusion have been finally extinguished." Please let us know when you get there.]
We just heard from a customer who is looking for step-by-step instructions about how to re-create a certificate in OES2/OES11. He'd like specifics about migrating services to a new server, re-creating certificates, test scripts to find status of your system, and whatever else you think he should know about OES administration. Anyone interested? We're offering double points if you can fill this order.

In OES11SP1 we have made major changes in DSfW configuration during new server installation. The changes have impacted YaST configuration screens for new forest, new domain in existing forest, and new domain controller in existing domain.
Here is an overview of the changes that we made, the benefits they offer, and how they have changed the overall look.
The iPrint Driver Migration script takes drivers from any NetWare driver repository and converts and uploads them to a Linux driver store automatically.
