private keysearch for term

An encrypted mathematical formula that belongs to a subject (user, application, or computer) and is never revealed to anyone. The subject uses the private key to decrypt messages that it receives and messages that are encrypted with the subject's public key.A private key can also encrypt a message digest sent by the subject to anyone else. Using the subject's public key, anyone can decrypt the digest and be assured that the message originated from that subject.
