Stages in the life of a portlet. Portlets move through several stages from initial activation to final deactivation; these stages constitute the portlet life cycle. Portlet containers in exteNd Director automatically manage the life cycles of portlets in your deployed portlet applications. These are the stages in the life cycle of a portlet:

  • Loading and instantiation
  • Initialization
  • Invocation
  • Removal from service
