Nagios eDirectory Time Check updated to v1.1
Part of eDirectory health checking is to monitor time synchronisation in the environment.
I've put together a Nagios check script which can be used by system administrators to monitor whether time is out of sync on any contactable servers from eDirectory's point of view. It also outputs a list of any servers that couldn't be contacted.
To see what's changed in the latest version and to find out where the script can be downloaded from, please read on.

Nagios eDirectory Obituary Check updated to v1.4
Part of eDirectory health checking is to monitor for stuck obituaries in the environment.
I've put together a Nagios check script which can be used by system administrators to monitor the oldest obituary and alert if an age threshold is hit. It also outputs performance data which can be used to graph the trends of each obituary state.
To see what's changed in the latest version and to find out where the script can be downloaded from, please read on.

Open Call: ndsd & ndsrepair errorlevels
I need some help identifying the different errorlevels output by ndsd and ndsrepair. These will be used to improve the nagios monitor scripts I've written for eDirectory.
To learn how to see the errorlevel and to help me with this, please read on.

Talking about Entitlements - Part 1
Entitlements bring with them several bits and pieces scattered about the product. There is the Entitlement itself, the granting agent, and then how it is actually used. In part 1 of this series, Geoffrey Carman talks about Entitlements in general, and the Roles Based Entitlements driver.

HowTo: Call IDM SOAP functions with PHP
IDM provides SOAP and REST APIs to access IDM functionality from outside the User Application. The APIs are well documented in the User Application Administration manual, but the listed samples focus on Java.
Of course the SOAP and REST architecture is so generic that it can be used from most programming languages.
To get you started, here is a sample stand alone PHP application that uses SOAP calls to retrieve information from IDM.
