NetWare SMPNovell software that allows multiprocessor-enabled NLM programs to run on a system in which all processors can perform all tasks. At runtime, an algorithm assigns tasks to each processor as necessary to balance the work load. A symmetric multiprocessing system is the opposite of an asymmetric system, in which different processors are dedicated to different kinds of tasks.
