The location of an Internet access point. A PoP necessarily has a unique Internet (IP) address. An Internet Service Provider (ISP) has a PoP on the Internet. A PoP usually includes routers, digital/analog call aggregators, and servers. PoPs may also have frame relay or ATM switches.
