Novell Operations Center has had the ability to integrate with LDAP in order to authenticate users for quite some time. A specific enhancement requested by several customers is to support a group import as well as making this a more automated processes as opposed to the manual method in 4.7 and prior versions.
Within the next release of Novell Operations Center, we are enhancing the LDAP by allowing the administrator to create an element that represents the connection details to an LDAP source. Below is a sample of the connection details dialog.

After you have the connection details set up, it is a matter of creating a group, specifing that the group is driven by LDAP and providing details around the connection and query string.

If you already have some groups in place and want to change them to an LDAP group (or back), you will have that as an option, there will be some prompts during the change to ask the administrator what they want to do with the existing users (keep them or get rid of them).
Notice the "Schedule" button, this is another piece of the functionality that is being added, this allows administrators to control the intervals for when the LDAP query occurs.
If you have questions regarding this feature or the upcoming release, please drop me an email.

It was contributed by a community member and is published "as is." It seems to have worked for at least one person, and might work for you. But please be sure to test, test, test before you do anything drastic with it.
