Solving GW Agent Installation Problems on OES Linux

A Forum reader recently asked:
"I have set up the GroupWise agents (MTA, POA) under an OES-Server. When i start the ./install in the distribution directory, I can choose install agent - but then it sits on 0% complete for the install procedure."

Solution
Do you have the correct file system rights? If you do not untar the files on the Linux system but instead copy them from a Windows machine, you will not have the correct rights.
I also found that I needed the install file in the root of the SDD to have rights=75. Also, the install.sh file in the gwinst directory needs 755 rights, or I get the 0% installation.
Disclaimer: As with everything else at Cool Solutions, this content is definitely not supported by Novell (so don't even think of calling Support if you try something and it blows up).
