Hiding GroupWise ID's from the Address Book

Problem

A Forum reader recently asked:

"We have been told by auditors that in our address book we must be able to remove the ID's that the system displays.

I could disable the quick-info option in the address book, but when you go to Properties of a sent mail you can see usernames and the userID in brackets. I would like to remove the userID from that list yet keep the user visible by all other means in the address book.

We also disable the Quick Info by means of a login script, but users can enable it again, and the ID is still available through other views."

And here's the response from Dave Parkes ...

Solution

If the Groupwise ID is the same as the normal login ID, you can easily rename just the GroupWise account.

1. In the GroupWise section of ConsoleOne, highlight a user.

2. Right-click and rename the user.

Now the GroupWise account ID will be different from the NDS login ID.
