Blog Entry
We just got call from end-users from a branch office complaining they can't access the shared files.
As the shared files are stored on an NSS linux volume (DOI:), I tried to open the volume from my desktop : not possible.
After ssh'ing to the server, a "ncpcon" showed the volume was not mounted. "mount DOI" went back with a "fail error reason=152".
I thought the ncp2nss process had an issue, so I restared it with "/etc/init.d.ncp2nss restart".
Still not mounting the DOI volume.
A look to /var/log/messages showed:
Dec 21 15:42:44 victoire adminfs daemon: Adminusd proc: zero length read.
Dec 21 15:42:44 victoire adminfs daemon: adminusd: Handling function aborted
So I killed the adminusd process, restarted manualy with "/opt/novell/sbin/adminusd", restarted the ncp2nss again.
And it is now running.
