Problem
A Forum reader recently asked:
"We need to perform IMAP header searches on messages in users' mailboxes. The GroupWise 7.0.1 release notes state that the IMAP search header <FIELD> <STRING> command works for most header fields. It says "most" fields, so I guess we need a definition for that qualifier."
And here is the response from Morris Blackham ...
Solution
With GroupWise 7.0 or 7.01 or later, all x-fields are now added to the user.db so they can be searched on. Other header fields may or may not be searchable. If it corresponds to a normal GroupWise field, like TO, FROM, Subject, Date, etc., it's fine. But something like Importance: or Disposition-Notification-To: ?? is probably not. The Precedence, Received and Return-Path fields are added and searchable.

It was contributed by a community member and is published "as is." It seems to have worked for at least one person, and might work for you. But please be sure to test, test, test before you do anything drastic with it.
