Quick update before the Christmas break. We are right now in the process of releasing GW7 Interim Release 1. It's a public patch, fully tested and it is a precursor to SP2. It will appear on the GW patches page later today. Now, if rolling out patches takes your company a while, or your problem is not listed in the readme then I should warn you that we plan to follow with SP2 some time in the first quarter of next year - bear that in mind. And no, I am not going to give you a date - it has backfired on me every single time :)
Also, available for download are a MAPI beta and the GW7 Migration Utilitity for MS Exchange. The MAPI beta contains a load of fixes and enhancements for our MAPI provider. So if you are experiencing problems with utilities that use MAPI to send mails through GW then go and give this a try.
The Exchange Migration Utility is the result of months of work for our team and offers vast, vast performance increases over the old version. If you are planning a migration soon then make sure you give it a try - it's free after all. They are all available from here. Make sure you select the beta link at the top for the 2 beta updates.

Yes it will. IR1 and our previous IR1 Beta also has the DST changes in them. There will be a GMS update with SP2, or maybe a little after but that is not part of IR1.

I am a great fan of the GroupWise 7 client on Windows, I particularly like the filter boxes on each pane which is a great way to find information you may have buried. I use HTML posted notes in a folder for all my ... er, notes, and its very easy to retrieve information you know you put in there but you're not sure where. As GW is the application I spend the most time in the Linux client needs to achieve parity before I would move my desktop to Linux, but I worry that the two clients have different code bases, it's going to make it very difficult to maintain.
On another issue, I heard on Novell Open Audio that Bonsai will offer improvements to contact management. Again I like the contacts folder in GW7, using the filter box here is again very powerfull, start typing a name or a number and if it's in there the filter will show it, but this desperately needs opening up. I can't for example easily use my contacts folder as a mail merge source (unless I'm missing something) and while the address book itself has an attempt at TAPI integration this isn't available in the contacts view. With IP phone systems becoming the norm not being able to dial directly from your contacts is primitive - I hope Bonai addresses this.
