The Program Killer is a Delphi 6 program that monitors the Process List on Windows 95/98/Me and Windows NT4/2000/XP for unauthorized EXE files (User Definable) and if found, those Processes are Terminated via the Windows API.
This is a completely new version rebuilt in Borland Delphi 6, with a host of new features, including Exporting a "Configuration File" from Program Killer, Disabling the Icon or the System Tray Menu, Windows NT4 Support (highly requested), MD5 Encrypted passwords, and several other additions.
Using Delphi 6, Program Killer should run better, and is more efficient at finding, and killing unwanted programs.
Installation of the Program Killer is performed via several built in Command Line options, and while these can be manipulated individually, a DOS Batch script has been included to help automate the calling and use of the command line options.
Before using the Batch scripts, please read the comments inside, as there are several system specific variables that may need to be set, depending on the system.
Program Killer is still released as Open Source under the GNU Manifesto explains the details. In legal terms, GNU software is protected by the GNU General Public License, or GPL, and by the GNU Lesser General Public License, or LGPL. The Linux kernel, which is subject to the GPL, benefits from this project (especially from the tools), but should not be seen as the same thing.">GNU Public License.
