Branch Server Redundancy
My company needed a way that users at the different branches could still function and perform their duties, even when the local branch server was down. The following should at least let you begin thinking about how this could be handled.

Linux Just Does That: Workspaces
For a while now I have taken for granted the marvelous functionality commonly referred-to as "workspaces" in the X window system. Anybody using a graphical interface with X already probably has this functionality present by default and in many distributions the feature of multiple workspaces is even enabled by default The idea behind this article is to show how efficiency in the GUI can be improved using this feature and the ease of adopting the technology to suit your needs out of the box, because Linux Just Does That.

Clustering XEN with Heartbeat and Advanced HASI
Ivan Vari shares an excellent document focusing on a design where XEN virtual machines (domU) are centrally managed according to a set policy and highly available. What is written here is the real thing not a demo and has been working in production for over 18 months. They use this technology for hosting many UNIX services including DNS, Web proxy, SMTP, NFS, VPN, CUPS, etc. and traditional NetWare services with OES2.
