In an article published by Open Horizons, Tracy Smith, Novell Vibe Product Manager, discusses the changes that have been made to Novell Vibe OnPrem 3 (Formerly Novell Teaming). The first thing users will notice is the new user interface. The UI has taken a more simplistic approach which has made it more intuitive and easier to use. The option to brand workspaces has been simplified and extended. Administrators can control branding for the entire Vibe environment or allow users to create customized branding for their workspaces. With the new integrations of Novell Messenger users can see a real-time presence of other users.
The Resource Library has published a new workspace example. This workspace is using Novell Vibe OnPrem's landing page element. The landing page element can be used as an intranet or external facing page. In this landing page example we create an information page for county government. We have created external links to Wikipedia pages and also links to internal wiki pages.
The Resource Library (formerly the Teaming Library) has released two new forms to their list. If you have a need for a maintenance request repository then the Maintenance Request Form is your solution. The Project Delegation Form and Workflow will provide you with an advanced task entry.
Novell has released the latest installment of the Novell Vibe OnPrem product. This is version 3, code named Durango, and formally known as ‘Novell Teaming’.

Novell Vibe brings simplicity, consistency, and efficiency to both simple and complex document approval processes. Its customizable workflows streamline and automate approval processes. Its document rendering engine enables approvers to review and approve documents from any online Web browser. Automated notifications keep all stakeholders on track and up-to-date through every step of the process, enabling documents to be approved on time and with greater ease.

Novell Vibe lets you easily create workspaces that can act as project templates to save you time and effort, while providing your projects the level of consistency that you need. It lets you quickly re-populate and re-purpose your project workspaces with key project information and resources, such as project standards, instructions, procedures, knowledgebases, tasks, milestones, forums, wikis, and whatever you need to spin up your project in a fast and comprehensive manner.
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU München) wanted to enhance staff, student and partner collaboration by creating a Web-based platform that would provide secure access to documents, blogs, wikis and many other Web 2.0 tools, as well as workflows to help manage administrative processes. By building the solution on Novell Teaming, the University gained a highly flexible and extensible solution that aligns with its open source strategy.
As a Product Manager in the Collaboration space I track the mobility market relatively closely and, like collaboration, I don’t think there has ever been a more exciting time in the space. I wanted to share some of my musings on Tablet PCs– I don’t declare that I am an expert by any means, but it is certainly a space that I love to follow at the moment.
Novell Vibe allows organizations to create a central, unified platform for learning that eliminates geographic and time zone barriers, enables anytime anywhere access to training materials, provides multiple communication mediums for enhancing the learning experience, and reduces travel expenses and costs associated with distributing and maintaining training materials.
