Novell® Conferencing simplifies Web conferencing with easy-to-host and join virtual meetings that don’t require any downloads or software installation. To help you make Web conferencing even easier, the following gives you some quick insights and tips to help you get the most out of your Novell Conferencing experience.

Completely Web browser based – If you have a Web browser, you can host or join a meeting.

Easy to initiate immediate ad-hoc meetings - Launching a real-time, ad-hoc Web meeting with your customers, partners and peers is as easy as initiating an instant message. In fact, its integration with Novell GroupWise Instant Messenger enables you to quickly elevate an instant message into a full-blown instant Web conference.

Easy for people to join a meeting - If you are having a phone conversation with someone and want to share something, instead of emailing the file and waiting for them to receive it, you can easily start an instant meeting and share your desktop instead. You just click Start Meeting, give the person the meeting URL, and your Web meeting will start in seconds.

Easy, yet powerful features - Novell Conferencing provides some powerful, yet easy to use features including video conferencing, VoIP, and meeting recording.

Novell Conferencing provides an efficient and familiar Web browser environment for bringing your teams together in a productive and cost-effective manner, as well as enables you to easily host Webinars, Webcasts and other Web events.

Unique and personal virtual conference room – Novell Conferencing assigns account owners a unique and personal virtual conference room URL comprised of the Novell Conferencing domain name and your Novell Conferencing ID (i.e., conferencing.novell.com/johnsmith). This conferencing URL acts as a virtual meeting place for your Web events, as well as where you customize and schedule all your Web events.

The dashboard - When you visit your unique Novell Conferencing URL and log in to your account, you will be presented your own personal dashboard. The dashboard provides you a single point of access to host and schedule meetings, view scheduled meetings, search for meetings and recordings, view and edit your preferences, and change your password.

Conferencing ID and Novell login – Typically your Novell Conferencing ID will be the same as your Novell login. However, if they are the same, the passwords you use will not necessarily be the same since Novell Conferencing is not currently managing passwords using single sign-on.

Customizable preferences – You can customize all the settings and preferences for your meetings, including meeting date and time, meeting name, agenda, meeting access key, audio/visual sharing, resource sharing, chat, phone bridge dial-in/access, and more.

Virtual lobby – If participants arrive before your scheduled event begins, you can have them directed to a Web page that acts as a virtual lobby or waiting room, where they can wait until the event begins. Once your event begins, these participants will immediately be joined to the event. If you’ve started an ad-hoc meeting, and have the lobby feature enabled, participants who try to join will be directed to the lobby until you grant them access to join the actual meeting.

Scheduled Meetings – The Scheduled Meetings tab in the Novell Conferencing dashboard shows you the meetings that you have scheduled, not the meetings that you are invited to.

Meetings end as scheduled – A scheduled meeting will automatically end at its scheduled time, unless the host extends
