Problem
Cannot install a new GroupWise system from a Microsoft Windows 2003 machine.
The Auto-run works, and selecting to install a new GroupWise system works. Selecting a language to display the 'Software License Agreement' works, too. After that, the installation program (X:\admin\install.exe) fails to load.
The Microsoft Windows Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) displays an error in the 'Application' log:
Event Type: Error Event Source: Application Error Event Category: (100) Event ID: 1000 Date: 4-7-2007 Time: 10:21:44 User: N/A Computer: MSWIN200307 Description: Faulting application install.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00930f74.

Solution
Disable the 'Data Execution Prevention' feature in Windows (or enable only for 'essential Windows programs and services').
See Control Panel > System Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings > Data Execution Prevention.
Environment

- Client: Novell Client 4.91 SP3
