Problem

There is a duplicate name in the system Address Book. However, the corresponding GroupWise mailbox cannot be found in the GroupWise system through Console One. TID 2907790 did not seem to fix the problem.

Solution

You'll need to know the mailbox username and the home post office of the ghost account. You can get this information by holding your cursor over the entry in the address book.

1. Recreate the email account using the same username. Put it on the same post office that the ghost account appears to be on.

The new account will tie in to the remnants of the ghost account.

2. Delete the new account you just created and the ghost account will be deleted also.

Environment

  • NetWare 6.5.x
  • GroupWise 7.0.x (also worked with GroupWise 6.5.x)
