ENVIRONMENT: For use with all versions of ZENworks Desktop Management running on Windows workstations. (For older versions, the path for shell32.dll may vary.)
SOLUTION: Not sure if this is common knowledge or something that isn't well known, but if you want to have an application display a "folder" icon or any other of the common Windows icons for your delivered application, here's how to do it!
Suppose you want to create an application that points to a folder on a mapped drive or a shortcut to a localized folder. The problem is NAL will only give you so many options for icons, sometimes not including the default folder icon in Windows. Well, all you have to do is modify the Icon Properties for the desired application to point to:
C:\windows\system32\shell32.dll
This will give you a list of all the default Windows Icons, including various folder icons. This will be useful if you deliver applications that point folders.
