….for us at least.
Yeah, it’s been a while since I posted. I went on vacation back to Blighty - it’s called a vacation, but it certainly didn’t feel like one. Started badly with flight delays and missed connections, during which my 8 month old son screamed fairly constantly, oh and threw up on me 5 times! We were those people that you don’t want to sit near on the plane, especially as I smelt of baby vomit for 24 hours.
After 2 weeks of running around visiting friends and family I arrived back in Salt Lake more tired than when I left. Anyway, that’s not what all this is about :) It turns out that a recent MS Exchange Server update breaks our gateway.
It seems like it only affects the gateway in a GW7 domain. I have duplicated this on a Windows 2003 Server with Exchange 2003, not yet sure if it affects other versions.
Anyway, the MS update is MS06-029 - Vulnerability in Microsoft Exchange Server Running Outlook Web Access Could Allow Script Injection (912442). Uninstalling the update allows the gateway to work again. We’ll be looking into this to see if we can figure out why it breaks the gateway and update the gateway as soon as possible. If you are seeing the problem then you’ll see this in your gateway logs:
06-16-06 15:25:19 2 Message 1: ERROR (E01) 042027: Error converting addresses between MS Exchange and GroupWise formats

Yeah, and that's the other bad bit. They get dumped in the big bin o'death. That is something else that we need to look at as we really shouldn't just be dropping the messages.

Hi
I have uninstalled the FIX from MS but it still drops 1 in 10 messages.
Is there something I can do to ensure that the messages can be moved to the BAD folder?
If not any other ideas...
