Blog Entry
I would like to outline some changes we have just finished making to the image downloads at http://download.novell.com/directed . Your feedback told us that the downloads were hard to navigate and find what you're looking for, and that you didn't want to have to download a whole DVD's-worth at a time.
In response to that we have completely re-designed the system. Now when you login (as a PartnerNet member) you should see two Utopia builds in the "Directed" tab:
* Index of Utopia Demo Kits -- this is a pdf explaining which zip files belong to which demo, and which DVD they will be on (if you prefer not to download them)
* Utopia Demo System Partner Edition -- all of our Linux images, and a Partner Tools ISO for each demo area to enable partners to build the Windows vm's themselves, using their own media and licences (required for Micorosoft licensing compliance). This replaces the old way of listing utopia_dvd1a, utopia_dvd3b, and so on.
Now you can download individual virtual machine images, or even individual zip files, instead of having to download a whole DVD ISO.
We hope these changes will make your image-downloading lives easier. Please try the new service out and let us know what you think.
The images can be found at http://download.novell.com/directed , and our demo documentation is at http://www.novell.com/partners/utopia .
Disclaimer: As with everything else at Cool Solutions, this content is definitely not supported by Novell (so don't even think of calling Support if you try something and it blows up).
It was contributed by a community member and is published "as is." It seems to have worked for at least one person, and might work for you. But please be sure to test, test, test before you do anything drastic with it.
