ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Summary:
The successful candidate will join an existing network support team in a newly created position to install, deploy and manage the company's server technology in a rapidly expanding enterprise environment. The technologies involved include Suse Linux, OES Linux, VMware and Windows servers. Strong candidates are well organized, efficient and excellent communicators with strong attention to detail, deadlines and customer expectations. He or she will also possess the ability to handle concurrent projects as well as a proven aptitude for quickly adapting to new challenges.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-- Serve as subject matter expert with regards to all server based installations, configuration and administration.
-- Demonstrate proven success designing a distributed, fault tolerant server infrastructure.
-- Respond to server and infrastructure support calls during business hours, carry pager for off hours emergencies.
-- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for higher level application problems, server issues, and systems outages.
-- Demonstrate proven success in maintaining/deploying Linux and Windows servers and associated technologies.
-- Must be proficient in Visio and must be able to read/update network diagrams.
-- Identify, and perform server hardware upgrades. This includes building and deploying new server hardware, replacing and upgrading existing hardware as needed.

Qualifications:
-- Detailed understanding of Suse Linux Enterprise, OES Linux 1 and 2 , VMware and Windows server operating systems.
-- 5+ years experience in multi-site installation, configuration, repair and administration of Linux based server infrastructure.
-- Strong networking experience.
-- Self-starter with excellent organization, administrative, interpersonal and technical leadership skills.
-- Experience in enterprise environments.
-- One of the following is desired but not required: Certified Linux Professional / Certified Linux Engineer.
