A Successful Relationship With the Attachmate Group Through Historic Engagements With Novell & PlateSpin
Computacenter has been a Novell partner for many years, particularly in the government and finance sectors with a prestigious group of clients including The Environment Agency, HSBC, Royal Bank of Scotland and many others. The relationship was taken to the next level when Computacenter decided to build a services practise around PlateSpin products, effectively bundling PlateSpin Recon and PlateSpin Migrate as a virtualisation assessment and consolidation service. They successfully rolled this out over a five year period into over 100 customers, ranging from medium size companies to large enterprises.
This service was primarily specified and sold via their UK Datacenter division and now with the advent of SUSE as a separate business unit within The Attachmate Group, Computacenter is looking to repeat the PlateSpin success story on a much larger scale - focusing on selling SUSE subscriptions into both their "X type server " customer base and their new System Z customers.
