Demystifying DNS by Allan Hurst and David Powell of KIS
This popular session demystifies DNS, presenting the basics of DNS in general, and focusing specifically on running eDirectory-enabled DNS on OES2.
In this session, attendees will learn:
- The basics of DNS
- Why an internal DNS server is a good idea
- Reasons why DNS on eDirectory is a great idea
- What kind of records should - and shouldn't - go into an external DNS server
- How to speed up network operations using a few simple DNS records
- How to register their own domain names without using an ISP
- A method for "ransoming back" a domain name from a web hosting provider
- Best practices for implementing DNS on NetWare

BENEFITS:
1. Improved network performance through properly configured DNS.
2. Increased fault tolerance through the use of NetWare DNS.
3. Higher comfort level troubleshooting network problems involving DNS.

Plus, these two relevant sessions will be taught by David Balcar of Novacoast:

The winner of last month’s Kindle Fire is Rey Boncato. Congratulations Rey.
