Novell TechShare Coming to a City Near You

(View Disclaimer)

Novell is making an extra effort these days to reconnect with customers and let them know that they are serious about product quality. Among the evidence that this renewed effort is taking place is a great training opportunity, a training tour, we're calling Novell TechShare.

Novell TechShare is a great opportunity for a couple reasons:

  1. It's 2 days of hands-on training for only $350.
  2. It covers the latest releases of the following products: Open Enterprise Server 11, ZENworks 11 Configuration Management SP 2, and GroupWise 2012.

Go to the TechShare web site at http://bit.ly/wqQCpY for more details on the specific topics we're covering for each of these products.

The structure of the event is similar to BrainShare and ATT Live in that the content is presented in 2.5 and 4 hour sessions. So you have a variety of learning options and can pick and choose the content most relevant to you.

There are several locations in North America where you could take advantage of this 2-day training event (without having to get approval for travel). Go to the TechShare website to see if we're coming to a city near you. If your city is not listed, you can send an email to training@novell.com and request a location that works better for you.

Disclaimer: As with everything else at Cool Solutions, this content is definitely not supported by Novell (so don't even think of calling Support if you try something and it blows up).

It was contributed by a community member and is published "as is." It seems to have worked for at least one person, and might work for you. But please be sure to test, test, test before you do anything drastic with it.

Ok I'll bite...

I live in Adelaide Australia.... Which one of these US only cities is actually the "City Near You"???

This TechShare tour is admittedly US-centric at this time. While I can't promise that the tour will be extended to Australia, I'll pass on a reminder that we have folks in Australia who feel left out of events like this.

Thinking out loud... how would it sit with you if this same content were made available online or recorded? Would either of those options suffice?

Recorded sessions

In answer to the "thinking out loud" part.

For me personally, the recorded content is fine and I would gain a lot from watching them.

However one of the big advantages of these road-shows is that it's something that you can bring customers to. It shows the customer that they are considered valuable in that the vendor has gone to the effort to go to them and put on a show.

Recorded content does not have then same customer impact and can even reinforce the idea that they are not valued in that the vendor is going to effort for other customers but not them.

Anyway, thanks for giving this some thought.

City Near You

I agree with Darren, I live in Hobart Tasmania Australia. I also find headings like "Novell TechShare Coming to a City Near You" misleading and could be deemed false advertising. I too am not a big fan of the online option.
