Orem, Utah, USA - September 19, 2012 -- Nexic announces the availability of Nexic Journaling 7.6, enabling third party ISVs to rapidly add support for Novell GroupWise. Journaling will now enable many third party archiving solutions to quickly and easily support archiving email from Novell GroupWise. Journaling automates the process of archiving internal, external and historical GroupWise email to a wide range of industry leading cloud, on premise and appliance-based archiving solutions.

For the past several years, Nexic has worked closely with leading archiving partners: Google, Symantec, and Smarsh, among others, to deliver integrated native GroupWise support for their archiving solutions. Now Nexic is offering this same Journaling capability publically to any third party ISV desiring to provide their customers GroupWise archiving capabilities within their current solution.

For GroupWise organizations desiring a cloud archiving solution, Journaling encrypts and sends GroupWise email to cloud SaaS solutions like Symantec Enterprise Vault.cloud, Google Message Discovery, Smarsh Email Management Suite, among others. For organizations desiring an on premise, appliance-based archive, Journaling can also send messages to appliances such as ArcMail Technology Defender.

Journaling was designed for high performance and scalability, delivering the most flexible archiving opportunities for GroupWise customers, enabling them to get the lowest total cost of ownership for archiving their email. Journaling sends email from GroupWise in a standards-based format to external archiving solutions. This capability is used to archive messages to solutions developed specifically for Microsoft Exchange, but that do not natively support GroupWise. Journaling sends a copy of the GroupWise message, with its associated attachments, to the external solution using SSL/TLS encryption for data security. When using Journaling’s Microsoft Exchange compatibility mode, most supported archiving solutions will not know the message originated from GroupWise. In addition to archiving live GroupWise email, Journaling can send
historical or personal archive email as well.
