We recently got this question from a GroupWise user.
Q. I have a folder within my Frequent Contacts Address Book full of about 100 contacts -- often including cell phone number. These are members of a charitable association I am the head of. I need to export all of them into some kind of format I can send to my secretary, who needs to import them into her Gmail account. (Yeah, sadly she has to use Gmail because her company doesn't use GroupWise yet.)
The GW Help file explains how I could export from GW and import into my own Gmail account, but doesn't talk about how to send it to someone else. Can you help?
A. To import into Gmail, you will have to export it as a .csv file (it's one of the options in the drop down list when you select export). Email the file to your secretary, and instruct her to save it to her computer, and then have her do this:
- Sign in to Gmail.
- Click Gmail at the top-left corner of your Gmail page, then choose Contacts.
- From the More actions dropdown menu, select Import.
- Click the Choose File button.
- Select the file you'd like to upload and click the Import button.
She can turn it into a Contact Group so it's easy for her to send out mailings to the group whenever you ask her to.
Hope this helps!
