NUI: How to Start a User Group
How to Start a User Group
Here's an overview of the steps involved in starting and running a Novell User Group.
1: Organize a Steering Committee
The first step in organizing a user group is identifying other Novell users who, like yourself, are interested on getting together and discussing Novell technologies on regular basis.
2: Develop a Plan
Arrange for a meeting during which you can develop a plan for organizing and maintaining a group. This plan should include the following: Purpose, organization, presidency, finance, operations, marketing, etc.
3: Register your Group
Complete and sign the NUI Affiliation Agreement, and fax it to (801) 861-7443, or email it to nuiguys@novell.com. As soon as we receive your Affiliation Agreement, we will make available to your group all of the services Novell NUI has to offer.
4: Organize Your Meetings
User group operations should be driven by the needs and expectations of group members. The governing committee should meet to develop a calendar of events. Group events consist primarily of meetings.
5: Access Services from NUI
Novell and NUI are committed to providing you with timely access to the information, tools and technologies your members need to effectively design, deploy and maintain Novell technologies.
