CTC Partners with SpikeSource and Brings OSS Solutions

Redwood City, California and Tokyo, Japan - January 10, 2007 - ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corp. (commonly called CTC with its HQs at Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. President & CEO:Yoichi Okuda) is partnering with SpikeSource (HQs at Redwood, Calif. President & CEO: Kim Polese) and will start delivering the SpikeSource servlet stack and Spike® Net support services today.

The product consists of the SpikeSource servlet stack, the SpikeNet update service, and SpikeNet support service. The SpikeSource servlet stack is a reliable, tested combination of OSS middleware including the click here.">Apache Web Server, Tomcat Application Server, PostgreSQL Database and associated libraries and utilities. The servlet stack will enable enterprise customers to use the most current OSS middleware with ease.

CTC has been working on strengthening its systems infrastructure design capability using Linux. The partnership with SpikeSource makes it possible for CTC to offer complete services from system infrastructure design to support and maintenance by using OSS. Furthermore, it will strengthen OSS-related businesses by increasing its OSS solutions.

Demand for systems using OSS is now rapidly growing in light of the advantages of OSS in systems investment reduction and its expandability. However, there were several critical issues such as quality control and support services that were difficult to perform for OSS. SpikeNet simplifies such issues and lowers the support burden and maintenance costs when OSS is used.
