Celebrate 5 years of a user driven event with us! The Big EveNt is hiting the Big 5!

The Big EveNt - AAGGHHH!

The Big EveNt is just that - a big event. All volunteer driven, we steal time from work and our families to get this thing organized and off the ground.

This year Chad Griewahn's been stuck with the duties of Chairperson and getting lots of lessons in how much work is involved and exactly how annoyed bosses and co-workers can get as the event gets closer. :)

BrainShare Buddies

WMNUG has a BrainShare Buddies group every year. I strongly recommend that each NUI start up their own "buddies" group if they have folks going.

BRAINSHARE BUDDIES - THE IDEA

We help each other out with notes from sessions we couldn't get into but wanted to attend. We give tours of the Salt Palace for the newbies to help them know where to go and where some "hidden" treasures can be found.

We also help out with recommendations on tracks to follow, hotels to stay at, and offers of extra "bed space" should their reservations get mucked up. And it's always nice to see a familiar face in the massive dining hall.

I've "harrassed" NUI into getting our group's shirts this year. Last year you would have seen us wearing our "NASCAR" shirts - several of our longtime sponsors (and a few new ones) pitched in to help cover the costs of the shirts for our crew. Their logos were plastered all over our backs...you might see a few of them around this year as well.
