EDMONTON, Canada-23 September 2007-Omni Technology Solutions, Inc. and Novell Inc. today announced the immediate availability of the Riva New Zealand Daylight Saving Time (DST) module for New Zealand GroupWise customers. New Zealand GroupWise customers are invited to download the free module from www.omni-ts.com/integration.
New Zealand Daylight Saving Time Information
Historically, New Zealand Daylight Saving time started the first Sunday of October and stopped the third Sunday in March. This year, legislation was passed to start New Zealand Daylight Saving Time the last Sunday of September and extend it to the first Sunday in April. Appointments that were sent or accepted on workstations that did not have the New Zealand DST patch have incorrect time zone information and will be off by one hour.
Riva New Zealand DST Module
"By partnering with Omni to deliver a custom Riva New Zealand DST module, Novell was able to provide an immediate solution to allow GroupWise customers to easily identify appointments that occur during the changed DST period," said Alex Evans, GroupWise Product Manager at Novell. "The Riva module is being provided free-of-charge to help Novell's loyal and growing New Zealand GroupWise customer base resolve DST related appointment issues. This solution demonstrates Novell's ongoing commitment to GroupWise and GroupWise customers."
"Omni is pleased to partner with Novell to provide this DST solution to New Zealand GroupWise 6.5 and 7 customers," said Aldo Zanoni, CEO and Managing Director for Omni. "Riva's innovative policy-based modules allow GroupWise administrators to distribute content and information to user accounts. The Riva New Zealand DST module automatically creates a GroupWise Query Folder in each user account. This Query Folder contains a view of all appointments that fall into the DST period. Users can quickly and easily review the appointments and take corrective action as required."
