After installing OES 2 Linux on a Xen host I could not get DSRepair, on my NetWare servers, or ndsrepair -T on my new OES 2 Linux server to show the tree in timesync.
The OES 2 Yast2 server install pattern installed ntpd on the guest SLES 10-SP1 operating system. The eDirectory documentation said xntpd should be used for timesync. On SLES 10-SP 1 xntpd is linked to ntpd.
After much reading of the logs and reading in the forums I realized I should be running ntpd on the Xen host, not the Xen guest, a.k.a. DomU.
I configured the Xen host, SLES 10-SP1, to use ntp from my tree time source. I then made sure ntp was disabled on my Xen guest, it is ignored anyway. My eDirectory is now in timesync throughout the tree.
I hope this might help someone save some time...
